Today, March 22nd, is World Water Day. Millions of people around the world lack access to clean drinking water. The Millennium Development Goals called on the international community to halve the number of people affected, and that specific goal was met five years ahead of schedule in 2010. Additionally, 2013 was declared the International Year of Water Cooperation by UN-Water. Much has been accomplished, but there is still so much more to be done.
Here at DayOne Response, we are committed to bringing clean drinking water to those most in need. Every product deployed or sold by DayOne Response contributes to these efforts. DayOne Waterbags deployed by our relief organization partners and those sponsored through our website go directly into the hands of beneficiaries in developing countries. Furthermore, for every product purchased through retail channels (our website, Amazon, or other reseller partners), DayOne Response donates clean drinking water through P&G’s Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) Program. We strive to be a part of bringing safe drinking water to everyone across the globe, and we invite you to join us.
Specifically for World Water Day, we launched two new campaigns this month that anyone can participate in. Firstly, we invite you to sponsor a DayOne Waterbag for Team Rubicon’s next disaster relief mission. Team Rubicon is the only nonprofit disaster response organization that repurposes the skills of military veterans to rapidly deploy emergency response teams, and we aim to provide enough sponsored Waterbags for 200 of their volunteers. Secondly, we partnered with Procter & Gamble to offer a new Purifier of Water Demonstration Pack. The 4-sachet package offers a great family-friendly activity. Talk to your children about the global water crisis, purify water in the comfort of your own home, or demonstrate water purification in the classroom, while donating to CSDW.
As always, a huge heartfelt thank you from all of us at DayOne Response to each of our friends, supporters, and partners. Together, we will continue to curb the global water crisis.
