DayOne Response, a leader in innovative disaster relief product development, particularly in the clean drinking water space, announced today that industry expert Yohannes Hagos has joined the leadership team as Senior Director of Field Operations. Mr. Hagos will support international expansion and lead increased market adoption of the DayOneTM Waterbag, an all-in-one solution to provide clean drinking water and prevent water-borne diseases.
Mr. Hagos brings to DayOne Response more than 30 years of humanitarian experience in water and sanitation for emergency response and international development. He previously worked as the Senior Water and Sanitation Advisor for the American Red Cross’s multi-million dollar water and sanitation project in the Asia Tsunami program. “We are looking to Yohannes to help us continue to expand our global reach,” says DayOne Response CEO Tricia Compas-Markman.
Mr.Hagos, who will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with DayOne Response, has worked internationally in places such as Cambodia, Tanzania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Kenya, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Indonesia, Afghanistan, El Salvador, Guatemala, Venezuela, India, China, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Honduras. “I have seen firsthand the impact of the DayOneTM Waterbag in Zimbabwe and the need to have more of these in many parts of the world for use in the immediate disaster relief and recovery where there are always shortages of access to safe drinking water,” says Mr.Hagos.
Mr. Hagos holds a Master of Science in Water, Sanitation, and Environment from Tampere University of Finland and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia
